Why Would The Pope Be Worried?

Questioning The Almight Insurance Policy

by Roland Kriewaldt

If the Roman Catholic Pope had faith in GOD's ability to protect him from assassination, then why would he need a bullet-proof "Pope Mobile" to ride around in? I'm referring to the Pope's visit to Toronto, Canada, back in the early 1990's, during which he travelled in a bullet-proof terrarium on wheels so he could be seen but not shot at.

Look, it's not my claim, but apparently the Vatican is said to be GOD's favourite charity and that the Pope is "His" top man here on Earth. Given that level of importance, wouldn't the Pope assume his back was covered?

But sincerely now, wouldn't the supposed "right-hand man" of GOD simply laugh at such a naive gesture, trusting that he had automatic and fool-proof protection from all mortal dangers? Unless...unless it's a sign of a crisis of faith. Why would the Pope worry for his life if GOD, we must assume, would protect his own best interests?

I don't get it. Is there a flaw in my logic somewhere, or aren't we paying attention to the contradictions in those who want to rule us with faith?

Just a thought.
