Being Too Proud Of Our Pride

A young woman had a self-esteem problem. She was afraid people thought her stupid. To compensate, she acted as though she already knew whatever others were informing her about. So while others were trying to help her, she would be saying "Yeah, I know, I know!" and "Okay, Einstein!" This caused her three problems:

1. She couldn't listen while she was defending her delicate ego with retorts and defensive posturing.
2. Her pride kept her from actually learning from others, and about the obstacles she was creating for herself.
3. Those who knew better began to avoid her until the only ones left were the people dumb enough to believe that she knew.

Thereby she orchestrated her own continued ignorance and no one else was there to take the blame. What did she have to say about this outcome?

"Yeah, okay, I know, I know!"
