Poopsie As A Second LanguageThere's Still Hope For Us YetIt is common for lovers to begin "cutesy-fying" their communications once they have grown comfortable with one another. They may use pet names like "poopsie" or begin to make specific intimate sounds to express their loving bond and caring intentions toward the other person. We also behave this way with infants and pets, cooing and speaking in gentle, playful and non-threatening tones. It's something we do in the private moments when we feel safe enough to let our guard down and wear our emotions on our sleeves. It is how we show others that we want to express our love and that they have nothing to fear from us. And it works. Although there are many reasons to condemn humankind and our behaviour, as long as we all learn to speak a little "poopsie," there's still hope for us yet.
