Hi, I'm Roland Kriewaldt. I was born in Germany and came to Toronto, Canada, as a six year old. I'm a professional musician and songwriter with a passion for investigating and writing about human spiritual psychology. I'm the author of Reality Check (a book of better questions for those seeking better answers) and I also do graphic art and web design. Realitycheckers.com is my personal website. Aside from that, I like my baseball caps, especially since my rock star hair left me for another head. That's me in the hat; unshaven with a sunburnt nose, fulfilling my childhood dream of experiencing the Amazon River. So what's my game? Ideally, I desire to live in a world not driven by fear but inspired by love to reach ever higher summits of organization, peace and creative expression. I want to help create a world that reveres existence, that sees it as purposeful and important, not incidental and meaningless; a world guided by wisdom not ego, and motivated by necessity rather than economy. I desire to live in a world where joy is the mission and purpose in life, where dreams are encouraged, and hope is nurtured. A world in which we no longer stand in our own way out of fear, or a lack of passion. A near-perfect world, I admit, but highly do-able. But like all great inventions, we must imagine it first. I have seen that world; it's here, an anxious flower waiting to blossom. And we are like the Monarch caterpillar, dreaming of a glorious future as a butterfly as we await our transformation. But why wait? No sense sitting around in our cocoons. Let's transform intentionally, with purpose. Yes, I have my beliefs and opinions. One is that monkeys don't invent computers or send spaceships to Mars. We have proven ourselves a distinct species whose origin and purpose are as-yet unconfirmed and unproven. So first off, let's not second guess our value. Let's live up to it. Secondly, our "best" accomplishments are borne of passion and joy. I want to inspire those in you. I hope that something here on my website will plant the seed that makes your life a little better than before you arrived. So whatever's brought you here, welcome. I hope you need what you find. WHO BENEFITS FROM REALITYCHECKERS.COM?
KUNDA - WHAT? (My Kundalini Awakening)
Beginning in June of 1993, I experienced a sudden and prolonged Kundalini Awakening. Kundalini is a rather poorly-documented physiological and psychological process typically sought through decades of disciplined yogic practice and meditation. I'm not into yoga, but there are exceptions when Kundalini suddenly rises in the unsuspecting — I'm in that category. (Damn those morning stretches!) Whatever this powerful internal force was, it remapped my entire worldview in under 24 hours. I definitely never saw it coming. In fact I never thought such a thing was even possible. I wasn't alone. Never once did the word "Kundalini" roll off the tongues of my well-educated doctors, despite my many years of classic symptoms including panic attacks, numbness in the limbs, forehead pressure, etc. "Stress," they claimed — whatever that means. Today, at least one of us knows what was going on. Stepping Into The LightSeeking qualified answers, I discovered Kundalini to be the agent of spiritual awakening in humanity; an evolutionary force against which there are no pills or treatments. Best of all, it's not for sale and also completely immune to religious and political meddling. Kundalini can destroy physically as it elevates mentally. Its energy is tremendous and I suspect resistance is futile (though I didn't resist once I knew what was going on). It made my panic attacks of ten years disappear instantly; it also filled my mind with profound insights and my heart with a love beyond anything I'd ever felt or imagined. It was a magical time for me. And to think, not so long before I was condemning spirituality as a form of weak-minded, wishful escapism. Today I defend it with all my heart. Life's little ironies... ![]() Information about Kundalini is available, but not from western medical texts or Webster's Dictionary. And mere knowledge of Kundalini doesn't confer authority anymore than reading flight manuals makes someone a pilot. Simply put, without direct experience, Kundalini is merely a concept. Kundalini awakenings are closely related to "near-death experiences" (NDEs) and are often misdiagnosed as stress, mental illness or even serious pathology since the body is usually also affected, sometimes in very distressing ways. There are far too few genuine authorities on Kundalini. There are those with direct subjective experience, like me, and a handful of dedicated researchers like Toronto's Dr. Yvonne Kason. She is the co-author of A Farther Shore, a book on spiritual emergence, and also a NDE experiencer herself. Her work offers valuable assurance to those in transition while the Freud, Merck and Phizer world is still shrugging its shoulders. But this ignorance is understandable. In fear-driven societies, the desire for security and control through absolute power dominates everyday life. This causes us to repress, hide and deny countless facets of a greater reality, thus obscuring our true nature from ourselves. But that ignorance has no home here at Realitycheckers.com. I keep the lights on night and day. This is not a place of shadows and veils. This is a place of exposure and self-disclosure. ![]() DODOThe magnitude of my experience is apparently not very common and some days I feel like that "last of the Dodo Birds". But I know I'm not the only one going through this. I've been watching, and the world is changing quickly and dramatically. There are many of us out there. A great surge in the availability of books dealing with human spiritual evolution attests to this mass awakening. Spiritual inquiry outside religion is no longer considered "occult" or heresy in most modern cultures. This indicates that we're readying ourselves for a major leap of faith forward in human consciousness. It also explains why there is a growing resistance and revivalism in many countries as certain groups try to push human spiritual awareness back down into the animal kingdom where it has cowered obediently under alpha male domination for thousands of years. Those who profit from our fear and ignorance don't see freedom of body and mind as conducive to their agenda. The enlightened don't make very good slaves. Anyone who witnessed the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York must know that such aggression is about more than keeping McDonalds out of the Middle East. It is a defensive outcry against evolution from those losing their grip on the traditional, male-dominated power structures which inform their sense of reality. There is great insecurity now as we are moving forward very quickly. And people are scared and angry. Men especially. We are leaving the simplicity of the animal kingdom behind us. The rules are changing, fast. What makes me think I know what I'm talking about? Because the world is obviously broken, and nobody's running to fix it; our tools are outdated. Money, sex, war, and that old-time religion obviously don't cut it anymore — and never really did. It's time for the individual to rise; an evolution revolution from within. And that's where you come in. NOTE: At this juncture it's quite healthy for you to exercise skepticism. But just make sure it's not that fearful person's substitute for wisdom called "cynicism". Historically, we know that clinging to a flat earth philosophy never changed what is round into a square, nor has denial ever made the truth disappear. These approaches only cause pain and suffering. Ignoring or avoiding the truth is not an effective method for evolving our species. BEHIND THE SECOND DOOR
My Kundalini experience allowed me to peer behind some doors otherwise closed to my everyday consciousness — and most people's I would assume. I witnessed many wonderous things, including an afterlife setting, my life "flashing before my eyes", the energy grid connecting all living things, and confirmation of my life's purpose. The experience also dramatically eased my fear of death — not the fear of pain and suffering mind you, just the dying part. But some things never change: I still squish mosquitos. For those experiencing a Kundalini Awakening, I believe they are "personalized" to assist our own unique development. My experiences included a "personal tour" of human psychology. I saw the architecture of conscious thought from the ground floor up. Those insights filled the remaining gaps in my own understanding of life — I finally got the punchline! I started writing books about it with titles like "The Deconstruction of Acquired Identity" and The Inverse Reality Principles. One day I hope to publish them. My newfound spirituality developed "organically" from within, unlike religious belief systems which are adopted by way of cultural osmosis from the outside inward. Ironically, there are many similarities in what we all believe. I just don't worship icons or have any use for middlemen in my relationship with my heart and mind. Nor am I into cults and restrictions on how I should interpret what I am and what I know . My own process of transformation has made me more sensitive to the emotional vulnerabilities of others in spiritual transition. Many don't even know they're transitioning because it's typically a much slower and more subtle process than the no-holds-barred, full frontal assault kind of experience I had. Over the years I've learned that too much talk about freaky stuff can upset people; we're all kind of sentimental about our worldview. So I play the middle ground; I write about sex, money, politics, sports, addiction, religion and violence — all your favorites! — but with my own Roland-esque twist. That means you eyes may widen and you'll probably crack a few smiles along the way. Hopefully you'll also walk away with some useful insights and be awakened to the possibility of you; that you are the source of love and change in this world. I hope so. One grain of sand at a time, that's what makes a beach. And that's what life should be. Self-exploration; to know thyself — that is the true path to joy. SO WHAT NOW?
In 1993, many read "The Celestine Prophecy" — but I lived it. Out of my Kundalini Awakening grew a passion to bridge the gap between the material and spiritual realms. I wish to help others navigate the chaos of existence as they find their own stride and sense of balance in this world. For those standing at the brink of their own personal spiritual transformation I can offer words of assurance as a true and compassionate peer. My purpose is to instill that mastering love and creative intelligence are life's "soul purpose" — "in the image of the creator" as the saying goes. But not to worry — I'll try to get this message across without sermons or preaching. Furthermore, I don't want to be anyone's guru — it's too damn codependent! — so don't expect an invitation to a *compound for some free KoolAid, or a ride on the tail of a passing comet. A tropical resort would be nice though...you have to admit. Mostly, I just want to be real. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?At realitycheckers.com you can:
