Ladies: Double Your Penis Size, Now. Edition #95 — June 30, 2007 There, did I get your attention? It's getting harder to do nowadays, especially with the recent announcement of the Spice Girls reunion. But now that I have it... There are three pieces of good news. One is that my neighbour is putting up a windmill. I just think that's a cool thing, so there... Secondly, there's a company that is using microwave frequencies in order to melt down rubber tires back into oil and other reusable constituents. (Here's the link on that story). The third event is the opening of Michael Moore's new film, Sicko, this weekend. Please go see it because if it doesn't make enough profit, then less theatres will show it next week, and its message will therefore dwindle because, well...it's not profitable, like a good Disney film. So now that I'm sort of on topic, I can rant a while. The truth is, I've been really busy doing web stuff, including my new Giftshop So I'm freewheeling another newsletter. Luckily I had something written for May which now fits like a glove into the Michael Moore Sicko movie rollout. The War On Sanity I still can't wrap my mind around the concept that every year hundreds of billions of US dollars are spent in a war to preserve a way of life which president Bush (Jr) seems intent on destroying. We all know by now that "The American Way" of life has become the corporate way, but why are US citizens being so overtly left behind in this desperate race for more? Why is Bush's gaze so outward and only to the very least extent, inward? Do Americans have it too good? Is it time for everyone else to catch up? Is Bush trying to improve the living standards of other countries by seizing them through warfare? It's ironic that this US Administration and its Republican allies won't go to war on the social injustices and poverty within their own country (although they are at war with the forces that threaten their bottom line — like unions, free speech, and the constitution. Bin Laden? Who's that?). George Bush and friends will not be walking the open streets after their poker game in Washington is over. They will be rubbing elbows with those whom they helped to get richer, which is what alpha male leadership has always catered to — blatant self interest. His admirers will be those who reaped the rewards of his administration's wasteful spending on the manufacturing, selling and disposal of military weaponry. In fact, George's entire presidency has been about spending money on the military. Not the kids who are fighting his war, but the corporations who cater these killing events. Who knows how many new residences have been built from the profits of two lost wars on "terror" — whatever that is... Who The Heck Is "Terror" Anyway? In the past, an enemy had a face, a uniform, or an ideology, like Hitler, "The Japs" or "The Reds." Today, the war is against "terrorism," which is a way of scaring people through random acts of violence. It's not a person, but a tactic. The Bader Meinhof gang used it, so did Timothy McVie, as does the schoolyard bully today, or the wife beater. How do you win against an idea that anyone could have at any time? You can't, but don't tell the voters that. There's an election coming. Some would love to connect a nationality or a religion to terrorism, but that would be a lie. So let's see who will dare to be the next to tell it... The solution? Stop messing with the world and save your own f..ked up country, for God's sake. People don't destroy what they admire. Become admirable. Revere life. Save it. Stop killing. What's So Free About Freedom? Just to go retro on you: what stands out in my mind is the courage of boxer Muhammed Ali back in the 1960's when he chose prison over being drafted to fight in Vietnam. His point, the one so valid again today, was why should he fight for a country that doesn't fight for him? And that's exactly what the people of the USA must ask themselves at this juncture in their history: "why stand behind a government that won't stand behind you?" And if they are standing behind you, it's probably to hit you over the head and steal your wallet. Can you trust your government not to leave you to die in the streets without someone turning a profit from your rescue? Not in this era. Look at the health care system. Once the bill comes, two trillion dollars will have been spent on an unjustified war in Iraq. To what end? It's lunacy when we consider that a war on poverty, illiteracy and racism would have been the ones far more justified and successful in their outcome. Imagine spending a trillion dollars to heal people rather than kill them? But instead, there is a monumental failure occuring in Iraq that will loom over the reputation of the USA for decades, or centuries to come, and all because of a misguided, greedy impulse by a gang of proven liars. (Any doubts about that last statement?) Meanwhile, the debt to Americans has increased exponentially without the slightest increase in the standard of living. In fact, that standard has been lowered since the debt started piling up after the Bush military shopping spree. But military spending, isn't that what many conservatives love to do? Guard, protect, hoard, and not share their bounty without...a good fight? And now, not only is the notion of universal American health care in jeopardy due to the mounting debt from killing foreigners, but so is the nation's geographical safety. After years of waving flags and guns into the faces of foreigners in their own lands, the ground is now fertile for a visit from those who have learned what unchecked, unethical, and unremorseful leadership can do. Thanks, George, you've done "a heck of a job!" Anyway, I hope I didn't moan you out too much. Remember, there's a windmill going up somewhere in the world! And tires may not have to be buried or burned in the future. And, I have a new giftshop. I think I'll sell weapons. I hear it's profitable. :) Woohoo, Subscribe to free newsletter
