Tomorrow, War Begins Edition #42 — Tue Mar 18 2003 Tomorrow
Tomorrow, the leader of a country with the world's largest arsenal of weapons of mass destruction is going to war against another country for having weapons of mass destruction. Tomorrow, a country known as the seat of democracy in the free world is going against the will of the majority of its people, and the will of the majority of the world, as represented by the United Nations, to carry out its agenda unrestrained. Tomorrow, democracy will transform into a dictatorship. Tomorrow, a man claiming to be opposed to terrorism is going to become a terrorist. George W. Bush, on behalf of the corporate interests he is working for, will instill terror in the hearts of innocent Iraqi people so that they will bow to his demands. Tomorrow, any country not aligned with George W. Bush's corporate-driven interpretation of justice and freedom will be forewarned about the futility of resisting America's corporate will. Tomorrow, George W. Bush will also be letting those who elected him know that their personal safety and that of the United States Of America is not one of his priorities. Tomorrow, dangerous terrorists will be envigorated by renewed enthusiasm, fueled by what they always said to be true from the start: that America is cramming its cultural and politics down the throat of the rest of the world — forced penetration, you might call it. Tomorrow, just as the people of Iraq have been punished for twelve years for not dethroning their leader, Saddam Hussein, so too will Americans be accountable for every minute they allow their leader, George W. Bush - the antithesis of all their country's principles of truth, justice and freedom — to remain in power. He has become a terrorist dictator with a huge cache of weapons of mass destruction. Most of them nuclear. Tomorrow, a country which fought against communism will act less like a democracy than today's Russia. With a mere thirteen years of practice, Russia is siding with the United Nations. Twenty years ago it was the other way around. Russia invaded Afghanistan and the United States, through its usual covert means, helped Afghans to fight against Russia. Will we see it happen again, only with other countries supporting Iraq against the United States? Building a wall of security, "Mother America" is closing its borders. Free travel is no longer possible and countries not aligned with its corporate philosophies are being demonized as being "un-American". And, blacklisting may be back in style, as was evidenced by the recent radio boycotting of The Dixie Chicks, a popular American country band, for exercising free speech. At this pace, book burnings can't be far behind. It's ironic that we always seem to lash out at who and what we are - peering into the mirrored images of our so called enemies only to find ourselves looking back. We are our own worst enemy. Back in school, people are bullied for reminding the bully too much of his own weaknesses and vulnerability — call it an exorcism. Some of the similarities between George and Saddam are becoming very obvious. Tomorrow, Americans will be calling each other "comrade". Not directly, but in spirit. It has become increasingly dangerous for U.S. citizens to speak against the regime and their dictator, George W. Bush. When worldwide, large-scale efforts to avoid war have ended in a blind eye being turned to the will of the people, then you know we are living in the past; a not too distant one at that. And we are about to repeat history. Nazi Germany, 1939. Zieg Heil, herr President. America ¨uber alles! Roland Kriewaldt P.S. Did you read last month's newsletter?
